Phenom Bryce Harper has decided to leave high school after just two years.
Harper, who was recently featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated, hopes to enter the MLB Draft earlier than he would have been able to in 2011.
He has registered at a community college where he will attend classes and play next season, according to the boy's father.
"People question your parenting and what you're doing. Honestly, we don't think it's that big a deal," Ron Harper said. "He's not leaving school to go work in a fast food restaurant. Bryce is a good kid. He's smart and he's going to get his education."
Harper hit .626 with 14 homers, 55 RBIs and 36 steals last season for Las Vegas High School.

Report: Selig Wants 10 Percent Reduction In Rookie Pay
Major League Baseball commissioner Bud Selig has reportedly been making it known that he wants to see rookie bonuses reduced by 10 percent.
The report was printed in the Pioneer Press on Friday, and claims that Selig's office has been quietly trying to direct teams away from large bonuses.
Selig: There's Still Room For Draft To Grow
Commissioner Bud Selig believes that there is still room for the MLB Draft to grow.
On Tuesday, the league held it's First-Year Player Draft in prime time, broadcast on the MLB Network, something Selig thinks will help things progress.
"Years ago, you didn't even announce the picks until three days later," Selig said. "We can do so much more, and tonight was a huge move in the right direction."
The MLB Network launched on Jan. 1, and the commissioner already believes that improvements have been made.
"It's a great day for the network," Selig said. "In a short period of time, six months, they've done a lot"
Selig was then asked what he felt about this year's draft class.
"Well, look it's too early to tell," he said. "Time will tell. You're always optimistic on draft day."

Purke Is Looking For A Deal Like Porcello's
MLB Draft prospect Matt Purke is reportedly looking for a deal similar to the one Rick Porcello received from the Tigers back in 2007.
Porcello, the 27th pick that year, received a deal worth $7.285 million in guaranteed money, including a $3.58 million signing bonus.
Both of those numbers were records for a high school pitcher.
Purke, a left-handed pitcher from Klein High School in Texas, has committed to TCU.
