Philadelphia Phillies? outfielder Pat Burrell had two home runs on Monday in Philadelphia?s 5-3 win at Cincinnati on Monday. On the year, Burrell is hitting .435 with three home runs and nine RBI. In 2008, Burrell is averaging almost one less pitch seen per at-bat. Los Angeles Angels outfielder Tori Hunter hit the go-ahead home run in the eighth inning and then the winning grand slam in the ninth inning against the Cleveland Indians. The grand slam came off of closer Joe Borowski. Hunter?s power numbers have been good this year with four home runs, eight RBI and a .727 slugging percentage. He has just one walk to seven strikeouts and still needs to settle into this line-up as the season progresses. Here are some observations from the San Diego Padres-San Francisco Giants game: Giants? starter Matt Cain?s stuff isn?t what it was two years ago. He got hit hard today by San Diego and at times looks scared of contact. He?s always been a fastball first pitcher, but his secondary stuff needs to get better. Padres? first baseman Adrian Gonzalez is just a solid major league hitter. From the left side, he uses all parts of the field and packs some power. I see him as more of a 25-30 home run guy with doubles being his calling card, but he is an important part of the San Diego line-up.
