Negotiations between the Diamondbacks and No. 1 overall draft pick Justin Upton have reached an impasse, with talks grinding to a halt and now, a potential eight-month wait ahead for a one-week window to sign the highlytouted shortstop before losing his rights in June. Diamondbacks General Partner Jeff Moorad did not sound optimistic when discussing the situation before Tuesday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. "We agree to disagree," Moorad said. "We control the player's rights until June and our preference would have been to get a deal done long ago, but it wasn't meant to be. "Discussions have ended."
