Gary Matthews Jr. twisted his right ankle while attempting to pull up at third base on Monday, according to the Los Angeles Times.
X-rays were negative, and Matthews has been listed as day-to-day.
"He was frustrated and surprised," Manager Mike Scioscia said. "He was slowing down to toss his helmet to Dino [Ebel, third base coach], caught an edge, and rolled his ankle. . . . He was running so well."
