The Blue Jays' biggest off-season acquisition could begin the season on the disabled list after he was struck on the right hand by a ball during fielding drills on Sunday, according to the Star. The incident caused a non-displaced fracture on the top of his middle finger and tore the nail off. "The fracture isn't the problem," Jays' GM J.P. Ricciardi said. "The nail is the problem." "I don't think it's going to be a month. I think it's less than that," Ricciardi said. "It could be a week, two weeks, three weeks. I really don't want to speculate. ... We'll know more after (the medical consultation)."
