Left-handed pitcher David Wells will "probably" have surgery in the offseason, The Boston Globe reports. Wells acknowledged Sunday that he's received three cortisone shots in his right knee, the most recent last week in Tampa. "You'll never know if I do get another," Wells told the paper. "And I don't think you should know. Some things are sacred. "If I get an injection, it's good news for you guys but bad for us, because if the other papers get a hold of it, [other teams] know a guy has a bad leg, they bunt on him. It's advantage, them."
