For as much pride as Torii Hunter takes in his performance on the baseball field, it's the work he does in the community that means the most to the center fielder. Hunter was recognized for that work, along with his play this past season, when he was named the Marvin Miller Man of the Year by the MLB Players Association on Saturday. The award is given annually to "the player in either league whose on-field performance and contributions to his community inspire others to higher levels of achievement." "It's quite an honor," Hunter said in a webcast announcing the award on yahoo.com.
