Ron Romanick, who has served as the A's roving minor-league pitching instructor for the past nine years, was named the team's bullpen coach. Romanick, 46, served as manager Bob Geren's pitching coach and bench coach two years ago when Geren managed Escogido in the Dominican winter league. Romanick also has worked extensively with A's pitchers, including right-hander Rich Harden. "I'm excited for the opportunity at this point in my career," Romanick said by phone from Peoria, Ariz. "Whatever I can do to help Bob Geren and Curt Young, I will. We're all on the same page."
