Left-hander David Wells, suspended six games after a July 3 ejection at Fenway Park, will have his appeal heard by Major League Baseball on Wednesday, The Boston Globe reported. Wells was ejected by second base umpire Chris Guccione after turning his back and yelling a profanity at home plate umpire Larry Poncino. "I don't think I should be suspended because I never should have gotten thrown out of the game," Wells told the paper. "The guy [Poncino] started it. I walked away from a confrontation and get thrown out? That's a joke."
