There are rumors that the Royals have requested and been granted by Major League Baseball the powder-blues as alternative uniforms for 2008. They were worn by the club from 1973 until 1991. According to the buzz, the powder-blues would be worn with a twist from tradition ? as tops only with white pants as Sunday home alternates, though the powder-blue tops also could be worn as Sunday road alternates with gray pants. The Royals, for now, are not confirming any of the speculation. ?We?re not making any announcement about possible uniform changes until after the season,? said Mike Swanson, the Royals? vice president of communications. ?Basically we?ll make an announcement on our own terms.?
