Third baseman Troy Glaus' frustratingly off-and-on season for the Blue Jays officially came to an end yesterday when it was confirmed he'd undergo surgery on his problematic left foot. Limited to 115 games, 20 homers and 62 RBIs, the 31-year-old was to fly home to California today, where he'd ready himself for surgery early next week, possibly Monday. "That seems to be our slogan this week: Get 'em ready for spring training," said general manager J.P. Ricciardi, a reference to news 24 hours earlier that Vernon Wells was headed for off-season surgery on his non-throwing (left) shoulder. Glaus, who, at various times this season was said to be suffering from both ankle and heel problems, bone spurs and, eventually, plantar fasciitis, got yet another opinion when the team was on the west coast recently.
