Oakland's Jack Hannahan blooped a game-winning single to shallow left in the 10th inning to score Mark Ellis from first, and the Tigers blew a chance to gain ground in the AL Central race Sunday with an 8-7 loss to the A's. Huston Street pitched a perfect 10th with two strikeouts for the win in the A's fourth extra-inning contest in their last six games. The Tigers seemed poised to pull within 4 1/2 games of the first-place Indians after the White Sox won 8-0 in Cleveland to avoid a weekend sweep, but Kurt Suzuki hit a tying, two-run homer in the ninth for the A's off Todd Jones. That leaves Detroit 5 1/2 back.
