Tigers first baseman Sean Casey congratulated Placido Polanco after Detroit's victory on Sunday afternoon, and, at first, Polanco wasn't sure why. Then Polanco heard the announcement and saw the scoreboard in leftfield: He had just tied Luis Castillo's major league record with 143 consecutive errorless games at second base. "It's an honor," Polanco said. "I take a lot of pride in that. I do believe we can win a lot of games, just by having good defense. "The defense can be there every day. You might be a great hitting team, but you're not going to hit every day."
