There's a reason Jermaine Dye has seemed a bit distant to a handful of his teammates since the start of the second half of the season. Before the All-Star Break, the free agent-to-be watched teammate Mark Buehrle get a four-year, $56 million contract extension when the organization had insisted back in spring training that they wouldn't talk contract with their free agents until after the season. ''I do want to stay here,'' Dye said. ''I've always said that I've wanted to stay here. My agent went to them with offers before, and they said they didn't want to do anything at this point and time, so ... as a matter of fact, I know he e-mailed Kenny over the All-Star break and they just said right now they're going to look how the team goes on this road trip and decide what happens. ''If I'm here, probably the only talks we'll have now will be after the season is over.''
