A's general manager Billy Beane said Wednesday that he'd spoken to MikePiazza's agent, Dan Lozano, and that Lozano had "hinted around'' that he and Piazza would like to discuss the team's plans to have Piazza rehab as a catcher. Piazza, who severely sprained his shoulder May 2, has been able to hit for several weeks but has not been able to throw well enough, or comfortably enough, to go on a rehab assignment as a catcher. "It's something we'll have to have a conversation about,'' Beane said. "It's taking too long.'' The Twins and Yankees would likely be interested in Piazza.
