Could this be the end for Jose Mesa? The Tigers on Sunday released the 41-year-old reliever. After signing as a free agent in December, Mesa went 1-1 with a 12.34 ERA in 16 appearances for the Tigers. The Dominican righthander gave up a .365 batting average to opposing hitters.
