Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts announced Tuesday that Blake Snell will start Game 1 of the World Series on Friday, with Yoshinobu Yamamoto following in Game 2 against the Toronto Blue Jays. The pitching alignment mirrors the rotation used in their National League Championship Series sweep of Milwaukee.

Snell dominated in his NLCS Game 1 start on October 13, striking out 10 batters over eight scoreless innings. He became the first Dodgers pitcher to complete eight innings while allowing one hit or fewer in a postseason game. Yamamoto followed with a three-hit complete game, marking the franchise's first postseason complete game since 2004.

Roberts indicated the team hasn't finalized starters for Games 3 and 4 at Dodger Stadium. Tyler Glasnow and Shohei Ohtani are likely candidates to follow in that order.

"I think we're going to run the same rotation back, I think for sure for the first two," Roberts said.

Ohtani earned NLCS MVP honors after recording 10 strikeouts and hitting three home runs in the clinching Game 4. His performance secured the Dodgers' second consecutive World Series appearance.

The Dodgers' starting rotation posted a dominant 0.63 ERA against Milwaukee, combining for 35 strikeouts. Snell, Yamamoto, Glasnow and Ohtani allowed just two earned runs across 28⅔ innings in the NLCS.

Roberts said bullpen decisions remain fluid as the team prepares for Toronto's right-handed power hitters. Reliever Tanner Scott, who underwent emergency surgery during the NLDS, is eligible for the World Series roster pending final medical clearance.

"It's just kind of trying to get a grasp on the doctors giving him the full kind of green light, the go-ahead," Roberts said.
