The New York Yankees clinched their 60th postseason berth in franchise history as they defeated the Chicago White Sox 3-2 on a Jose Caballero walk-off single.

The Yankees are now a game within first place in the American League East with five games remaining.

"This October we're coming to prove a point," Yankees second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. said.

The Yankees have reached the postseason in eight out of the past nine seasons and 26 times during the past 32 season after the MLB expanded to eight teams in 1994.
