The Los Angeles Dodgers maintain their position as baseball's most talented organization despite key players declining, while the Seattle Mariners surge to second place in comprehensive franchise evaluations.

ESPN analyst Kiley McDaniel released his annual ranking of all 30 MLB teams' core talent through the 2027 season. The evaluation considers players under contractual control for multiple years, excluding pending free agents and likely opt-outs.

Los Angeles retained the top ranking but showed vulnerability with Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman dropping from elite to plus tier. Max Muncy fell off the list entirely due to limited team control, while several core players entered their thirties.

The Dodgers still boast Shohei Ohtani in the elite category alongside strong pitching depth. Their second-ranked farm system provides organizational stability for future seasons.

Seattle climbed from fourth to second place behind breakout seasons from Cal Raleigh and Bryan Woo. The Mariners possess eight top-100 prospects, most positioned in Double-A or Triple-A.

Philadelphia rounds out the top three despite thin organizational depth. The Phillies sacrificed farm system talent for immediate competitiveness, ranking 21st in prospect development.

The New York Mets secured fourth place by combining the game's top farm system with playoff-caliber major league talent. Only Pete Alonso faces likely free agency among key contributors.

Atlanta dropped from second to fifth following injuries and performance declines. The Braves maintain strong positional talent but lack elite pitching depth beyond Spencer Strider.
