Vladimir Guerrero Jr. exited the Toronto Blue Jays' 5-2 loss at the Pittsburgh Pirates due to hamstring tightness. Guerrero appeared to suffer the injury when doing the splits two separate times to make a play at first base.

Guerrero will undergo an MRI to determine whether the injury is more significant than believed.

"It was after that stretch, obviously," manager John Schneider said. "At this time of year, everyone is kind of grinding a little bit, and that just irritated his hammy. It's just tightness."

Guerrero has a slash line of .298/.396/.498 for the 2025 season, with a .385 wOBA. Guerrero has a WAR of 3.9 with the Blue Jays currently in first place in the American League East.

Guerrero and the Jays signed a 14-year, $500 million contract extension in April.
