Cardinals third baseman Scott Rolen was placed on the 15-day disabled list Thursday after spraining his left shoulder earlier this week in a collision with Los Angeles' Hee-Seop Choi. Rolen was injured during St. Louis' 9-8 loss to the Dodgers on Tuesday. With one out in the fifth inning, Rolen hit a comebacker to Dodgers starter Scott Erickson. The pitcher's throw to first pulled Choi into foul territory, where he collided with Rolen. The Cardinals recalled third baseman Scott Seabol to take Rolen's roster spot. Seabol was hitting .325 with eight home runs and 24 RBIs at Triple-A Memphis.
