Justin Verlander hasn't started since Opening Day because of a forearm injury.

However, Dusty Baker raised hope on Thursday that Verlander could pitch for the Houston Astros in the postseason.

"Hopefully, if everything goes well, he could be back at the end of the month," Baker said.

Verlander was able to complete a bullpen session of 50 or so pitches on Wednesday. The Astros are scheduled to end the regular season on Sept. 27 and are all but certain to make the playoffs.
