The Mets' pitchers and catchers will report to Port St. Lucie in six days, at which time the team will have another experienced starter competing for the rotation. Chan Ho Park is expected to sign with the Mets in the next 48 hours, according to a report in the Daily News. Park is a 33-year-old righthander who went 7-7 with a 4.81 ERA in 24 appearances for the Padres last season. He has a 113-87 record over 13 years. One report valued Park's deal with the Mets at $3 million, including a 2009 option. The Padres reportedly offered Park an opportunity to re-sign as a long-reliever and spot starter. This is a role that Jorge Sosa could also fill on the Mets.
