Joe Maddon was introduced as manager of the Los Angeles Angels on Thursday afternoon.

The former Chicago Cubs and Tampa Bay Rays skipper wants to find a proper balance between "data versus art."

"In today's game, everyone is working off the same sheet of music," Maddon said. "I think there's a reason why fans have been turned off a bit by our game. That's because the game looks the same no matter where you go. I want to reestablish our own identity here."

The Angels are in the midst of four consecutive losing seasons and haven't won a playoff game in 10 years.
