A day after putting up seven runs, the St. Louis Cardinals failed to score as the Atlanta Braves took Game 2 of the NLDS 3-0 at SunTrust Park. The series is now tied 1-1.

Mike Foltynewicz struck out seven batters over seven innings, needing just 81 pitches to do so. Max Fried and Mark Melancon combined for a hold and save, respectively, to shut the door on the Cardinals' offense.

Jack Flaherty pitched well, allowing three runs over seven innings of his own. He struck out eight and walked one, while the Braves peppered him with eight hits.

Atlanta didn't need much offense with Foltynewicz on the mound, but got started early with Josh Donaldson driving in Ozzie Albies in the bottom of the first. Adam Duvall added a pair of insurance runs on a two-run home run in the seventh as a pinch-hitter, scoring Brian McCann.

The series now shifts to St. Louis with Game 3 on Sunday.
