Hall of Famer Nolan Ryan was admitted to St. David's Round Rock Medical Center on Friday to be treated for recurring symptoms of a preexisting medical condition. According to Ryan's son, Reid, this is not the first time that his father has had tests as a precautionary measure. In the seven years since Nolan Ryan underwent emergency double bypass surgery in April 2000, he has sought an examination by his doctor whenever he feels anything out of the ordinary. "This is not life-threatening," Reid Ryan said. "It's something he controls with medicine. When he feels something out of the ordinary or pain, his M.O. is just to go to the doctor. They have a standard procedure of running a litany of tests -- an EKG, blood pressure. All tests came back fine."
