Chase Utley intends to play next season, he told reporters on Monday.

Utley, who will turn 38 in December, will be a free agent at season's end. After a rough 2015, he is hitting .250/.327/.372 with seven home runs in 395 plate appearances this season.

He signed a one-year, $7 million deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers last winter.
