Adam Wainwright has struggled this season, but delivered a bounce back start on Wednesday night.

The right-hander entered the appearance with the second-highest ERA (6.80) in the Major Leagues out of the 105 qualified starters.

"It's very hard not to know where you're at, because in the middle of going, 'I'm not looking at the stats, I'm not looking at the stats,' somebody'll text you your whole stat line," Wainwright said.

Wainwright pitched 6 2/3 scoreless innings against the Colorado Rockies, momentarily delaying talk about whether or not he should be replaced in the St. Louis Cardinals' starting rotation.

He said Wednesday was the culmination of a lot of smaller adjustments to his mechanics, from improving his leg strength to straightening out his line to the plate.
