The Detroit Tigers will promote top pitching prospect Michael Fulmer, who will presumably to make his Major League debut on Friday.

Fulmer, 23, could take Shane Greene's spot in the rotation. Greene is dealing with a blister on his middle finger.

"He's got stuff for sure," Brad Ausmus said. "He throws 95, he's got a wipeout slider, but the big leagues is a little different. Guys have seen stuff like that before. You do have to locate your pitches but it certainly doesn't hurt to have that type of stuff in your arsenal."

Fulmer was acquired last season in the trade that sent star outfielder Yoenis Cespedes to the New York Mets.
