Philip Humber has decided to retire rather than accept a Minor League assignment with the San Diego Padres.
Humber, 33, threw a perfect game for the Chicago White Sox in 2012. However, his ERA ballooned to 7.90 a year later and he hasn't pitched in the big leagues since.
Andy Green said Humber is "ready to move on with his family."
