Rafael Soriano has decided to retire.

Soriano, 36, was set to join the Toronto Blue Jays on a Minor League deal but hadn't reported because of apparent visa issues.

The right-hander waited until midseason to sign in 2015 and had a short stint with the Chicago Cubs, making just six appearances before he was released.
