The injury-riddled Los Angeles Dodgers placed All-Star shortstop Cesar Izturis on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday -- two days after outfielder J.D. Drew broke his left wrist when hit by a pitch. The Dodgers learned Tuesday that Drew won't need surgery and is expected to return in about two months. Drew had a cast placed on the wrist Tuesday and will go back to the doctor in two weeks for a checkup. Surgery would have likely ended his season, so manager Jim Tracy called the news, "the best case scenario for us." "It will give him time to heal," Tracy said. Izturis was placed on the disabled list retroactive to Thursday, meaning he'll be eligible to be activated shortly after the All-Star break. He will attend the All-Star game next Tuesday, although Tracy said it's doubtful he'll play. "Putting him on the DL was the wisest thing to do," Tracy said. "He will only miss one game after the break."
