The Red Sox kept a versatile player Friday, re-signing Alex Cora to a two-year contract. Cora, 31, who had filed for free agency, batted .238 with one home run and 18 RBI in 96 games with the Red Sox last season. He started 47 games at shortstop, 10 at second base and four games at third, committing just seven errors in 292 chances for a .976 fielding percentage.
