The New York Yankees have announced that they will retire Joe Torre's No. 6 this summer.
Torre managed the team to four World Series championships in a five-year run that began in 1996.
Derek Jeter's No. 2 will be the last single-digit number not retired by the club.
On July 27, Torre, who is currently MLB's executive vice president for baseball operations, will be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
