Terry Francona and Clint Hurdle were honored as the top managers in the American and National League, respectively.
Francona edged long-time friend John Farrell of the World Series champion Boston Red Sox 112 points to 96.
"I have a feeling he wouldn't trade what they did for this any day of the week," Francona said.
Hurdle was a runaway winner, selected first on 25 of 30 ballots after taking the Pittsburgh Pirates to the playoffs in their first winning season since 1992.
