Hanley Ramirez played for the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 3 of the NLCS on Monday night despite a broken rib.

Ramirez went 2-for-4, including an RBI single as the Dodgers avoided falling into an 0-3 hole against the St. Louis Cardinals.

"They made a trade for me, and it means a lot for me," Ramirez said. "Since the first day that I got here, they showed me a lot of love and a lot of respect. I'll do anything for this team and this city. I'm going to go out there tonight for the fans and for my teammates just looking for the first win."

The shortstop wore a lightweight flak jacket to protect the rib.
