Center fielder Corey Patterson, a free agent after the 2007 season, said he would welcome the opportunity to speak to the Orioles about a multiyear contract. "I'm very thankful the Orioles wanted to trade for me," he said. "It's been nothing but great on a personal level. I like the city. The fans appreciate the way I play. It's a pleasant place."
