The Baltimore Orioles will allow Brian Matusz and Tommy Hunter to pitch as starters this spring despite success out of the bullpen.

Matusz and Hunter both spoke with Buck Showalter recently about getting a chance to make the rotation again. Both pitchers are out of minor league options.

As a reliever, Matusz held left-handers to a .168 average this season, stranding 32 of 37 inherited runners.

Hunter held right-handers to a .141 average this season, but left-handers hit .294.
