Ubaldo Jimenez says he is no longer consumed with pitch velocity like he was in recent seasons.

"I'm not paying attention to that now," Jimenez said. "That's something that I was working on [in the past]. Everybody was telling me, Velocity, velocity, velocity.' So I was trying to get back to who I was velocity-wise."

Jimenez has come to accept that he is not the same hard-throwing pitcher he was in his early days with the Colorado Rockies. He now sticks with his plan of mixing up his wide array of offerings with the Cleveland Indians.

The right-hander is 12-9 with a 3.49 ERA over 29 starts, but he has found another gear in the second half. Over his past 20 starts, he has a 2.52 ERA.
