Matt Kemp got five at-bats in his first rehab game with Class A Rancho Cucamonga on Thursday night, taking the next step towards a return to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

He went 0-for-5 after missing five weeks with a sprained ankle. Kemp served as the team's designated hitter and hit second in the lineup.

"I got more comfortable as the game went on," Kemp said. "I knew I wasn't going to come out feeling super good. But I hit some balls hard and that's all you can ask for."
