The Kansas City Royals have been red-hot since the All-Star break, thanks in large part to the bat of Eric Hosmer.

Hosmer has 84 hits since June 1, second only to Yasiel Puig.

"He's getting back to the swing he had two years ago," an American League scout said of Hosmer. "He was using that inside-out approach, and he had gotten so contact-conscious, and now, he's back to letting the bathead go and driving balls."

The 23-year-old is hitting .297/.342/.440 this season after posting a slash line of .232/.304/.359 in 2012.

During his rookie season, Hosmer hit .293/.334/.465 with 19 home runs and 78 RBI.
