Major League Baseball Players Association executive vice president Michael Weiner expects Alex Rodriguez to be allowed to finish out the 2013 season while the appeals process plays out.

Rodriguez was suspended through the 2014 season on Monday for his role in the Biogenesis scandal, but he appealed and made his season debut for the New York Yankees.

Weiner said there was no timetable for arbitrator Fredric Horowitz to hear the arguments and make a ruling, and predicted that this phase of the saga wouldn't be concluded until November or December.
