Major Baseball League has formally issued 13 suspensions in the wake of the Biogenesis performance-enhancing drug scandal.

Alex Rodriguez has been suspended through the end of the 2014 season, while 12 others have been suspended for 50 games -- including Nelson Cruz, Jhonny Peralta and Everth Cabrera.

Rodriguez is appealing the suspension and should play for the New York Yankees on Monday night. He is set to miss 211 games and lose more than $30 million.

"Obviously I'm disappointed with the news today," Rodriguez said. "What we've always fought for is the process and I think we have that and I think at some point we'll sit in front of an arbiter and we'll give our case. That's as much as I feel comfortable saying right now."

The other suspended players were Antonio Bastardo, Francisco Cervelli, Jordany Valdespin, Jesus Montero, Cesar Puello, Sergio Escalona, Fernando Martinez, Fautino De Los Santos and Jordan Norberto.
