The Cubs have informed Matt Garza's agent that they will trade him to build for the future, according to the right-hander.

"They told my agent [earlier in the week] that they were going to move me," Garza told Bruce Levine. "They said as much as they like me they need to add inventory for the future. I want to stay but that doesn't seem possible now."

The Rangers, Dodgers, Indians and Blue Jays have been told to make final offers for Garza, according to sources.

Garza was initially scheduled to start against the Rockies on Saturday, but the Cubs have pushed him back to Monday (against the Diamondbacks) if he's not traded.
