The Giants have been linked to Ricky Nolasco and the Marlins are motivated to trade him, but Brian Sabean has all but squashed the possibility of acquiring the pitcher.

Sabean said Tuesday that he does not expect to acquire any help soon for the rotation, bullpen or lineup.

"We're not going to be reactionary," Sabean said. "We're not going to make a deal just to make a deal."
