Travis Hafner finally got some good news after having his record-tying season come to a premature end because of a broken right hand.
"It looks like it it will heal fine and I do not need surgery," the Cleveland Indians' designated hitter said.
Hafner was hit by a pitch from Texas' C.J. Wilson on Sept. 1. Original X-rays were negative, but a second test a week later in Chicago revealed a hairline fracture. Hafner was re-examined by hand specialist Dr. Tom Graham in Baltimore on Monday.
