The Boston Red Sox have placed closer Joel Hanrahan on the disabled list with a sore right hamstring.

While Hanrahan is on the DL, Andrew Bailey will close games for Boston.

Hanrahan initially tweaked his hamstring in his second appearance of the season April 3 in New York.
