Charlie Wagner, who pitched for the Boston Red Sox during the 1930s and '40s and worked for the organization for 70 years, died early Thursday of an apparent heart attack. He was 93. Wagner was stricken after attending a minor-league game in his hometown of Reading, Pa. Reading Police Capt. Francis Drexler said Wagner was found in the passenger seat of his car in the parking lot at FirstEnergy Stadium, where he was a fixture and participated in an awards ceremony at the Reading-New Britain game. He was pronounced dead of natural causes.
