David Wright has a mildly strained intercostal muscle, according to Mets general manager Sandy Alderson.

The third baseman will be out a minimum of three to five days, but given the nature of rib cage injuries there is a chance that he'll open the season on the disabled list.

Wright was scratched before Team USA's World Baseball Classic game against the Dominican Republic on Thursday night.
