The Athletics on Sunday placed closer Huston Street on the 15-day disabled list prior to their finale of a four-game series with the Royals. Street, whose move is retroactive to Saturday, is sidelined by a strained right groin, a injury he suffered in the Athletics' 5-3 loss in the second game of a doubleheader Friday. Trying to protect a 3-2 lead in the eighth, the righthander allowed both the tying and go-ahead runs to score to absorb his eighth blown save of the season. The reigning American League Rookie of the Year, Street has posted 29 saves along with a 4-3 record and a 3.22 ERA in 57 appearances this season.
